GUROchan now has ads to support its continued growth.

The site has been expanding rapidly, and with that comes increasing storage costs. The /ai/ board in particular is seeing large uploads, which is great to see - but it also means we're slowly getting close to the limits of what we can maintain without additional funding. Expanding storage and improving GUROchan's infrastructure comes with permanent monthly expenses.

When I took over 5 years ago, it was already stated that ads might be introduced eventually. That point has now been reached in order to keep the site stable and able to grow further.

We won't take measures against users who choose to use adblockers.

How ads are implemented may change over time, and they may be removed if they don’t prove worthwhile.
