In the stories of mine set further in the future, I have genetically engineered "farm piggies" that the general population don't see as human, just as livestock for meat. They are born by implanting multiple embryos in genetically modied sows and grow to toddlerhood in a matter of days then take approximately three years to resemble an "organic" ten year old but with limited intelligence, never really mentally developing beyond 3 or 4.
