uh-huh. speaking from the salad bar, I actually agree with your point in general. it's
always
about power and control, most of the times money as a means to achieve both.
but in this case, as in many others, it's more complicated than just a secret cabal of illuminati trying to control everything.
it stands to reason, that there is - statistically speaking - just as many persons among the extremely wealthy who are interested in gore and such, as there are among
us peasants. of course, they don't need to resort to motherless etc. and could get their fix in other ways. but why would they have a reason to attack the site?
simply out of spite wouldn't make sense, because it's bad for business.
now, the credit card companies boycott a lot of fringe interests by not offering their services, because they fear to lose money in the main market.
motherless does not take away from their market share, since there is a different kind of demand with no overlap. guro lovers will not turn to vanilla porn,
just because a guro site gets taken down. ergo there is no money to be made by attacking the site directly. it would make much more sense, instead of trying to
destroy that market, to get control over it in some way and make money, without letting customers in the main market know. this is, what the wealthy usually do, take over things and make a fuck-ton of money with it, thus gaining even more power, political influence and so on.
therefore in this case the primary motivation appears to be religious zealousness (religion as well in the literal as in a broader sense, like the woke movement etc.).
but yes, it is very much about power and control. the idea is, to force one singular, narrow view onto everybody else, by whatever means available,
driven by self-righteousness and the belief to be "the good guys". one way to exercise power is, to get as many people to cry out in anger, as possible.
that is how most movements have worked since the dawn of civilization. nowadays, making use of social media, faster and more powerful than ever.
this is, when the foot-soldiers of the right and left come into play, mindlessly repeating phrases put into their mouths and believing to fight a good fight.
based on emotion, not consideration. this has nothing to do with "
right
" and "
left
", even less with "right vs. left". both rather obsolete concepts anyway,
that don't have much meaning anymore, if any. only the methods and motivations are as ancient as history itself. power, control, exercising both to get more of it.
yes, banks, credit card companies and so forth do play an important role in the whole scenario, but in this case, it is not first and foremost about the money.
it is about hating what is different from oneself, that which one does not understand and the attempt to get control over it, even eradicate it, using the power at hand.
Almost all play this game in general, always. And some among the very rich and powerful play it with motherless and all sites like it, which is a cause for concern.
My interpretation of it is: freedom of speech and thought under attack by power and control. I'm guessing that is not very far from what you're thinking.
🥗 out.
