I've been mulling over a scenario where an advanced alien civilization invades and captures Earth. Due to their warrior culture, they believe consuming sentient beings on special occasions enhances their vitality. Out of all the species they reign over, human females are considered especially delicious. In exchange for not glassing Earth into uninhabitability, the unified Earth government offer up women and girls gained through a mandatory lottery, criminal sentencing, or through volunteerism for export as meat livestock. Due to the ceremonial requirements for sapient animal consumption, the demand is kept low, but since Earth is supplying the local galactic sector for the upper class of a single polity, that still requires a decently large amount of female livestock which means the methods of acquiring said livestock still require large bureacratic organizations, societal demands and attitudes and the inherently dehumanizing industrial methods of processing.
