A guy who was bothered by the loli and fake CP content that sometime appears on this site (who became frustrated and deleted his own post about the subject) got me thinking about a way we might spare users who don't want to see such content, and (more important to me) help spare Gurochan from unwanted attention from people who might want to crack down on Gurochan.

My proposal, to avoid deep changes in the way the board software works here, is that people could voluntarily add tags, simply as text, to the subject lines of their posts.

Those tags could be something like #loli, #pedo, #realistic, #scat, etc. And, to make this system way more effective, we could let moderators edit subject lines of posts to add key tags when those tags weren't there to begin with.

I wouldn't want or expect anyone to go crazy with tagging, the way they do at, say, allthefallen.moe. The most important use for tagging would be for flagging subject matter many users are likely to not want to see. (As opposed to the kind of tagging that allthefallen.moe has, tagging that facilitates users with particular cravings... say, finding all images involving one boy and one girl having sex with a unicorn on a beach.)

The existing regex filter could easily work with these kinds of tags. We could perhaps add a filter specifically for these content tags which doesn't require JavaScript to be enabled, and doesn't require knowledge of regexes.

Even though I personally like photorealistic loli content (and have created some myself), such material is something I'll admit is the kind most likely to draw unwanted attention to Gurochan.

Though I'm a bit hesitant to propose this, perhaps it would be best if such content were hidden by default? An opt-in kind of thing rather than opt out?

On one hand, I don't like the idea that there could be posts here that some people never see, even though they might enjoy them, because they don't know they have to go out of their way to opt in to see them.

On the other hand, however, it might be a good thing if anyone casually browser this site never sees that stuff to get upset about it.

What do other people thing about this?
