But yes to your point, it does seem weird, at least if one's hatred of AI is a supposedly a moral stance against excessive energy consumption and displacing human artists and the like, to prefer that one is seeing a real human being tortured.

If one is amoral however, or if one likes to think of oneself as moral but lust outweighs one's moral concerns, there is a certain evil logic in preferring to see the "real thing" over a fake.
