ever wondered about something board-related?
noticed something off, or out of place but didn't know if it belongs?
wanted to know if something you'd like to do is okay or not?
wanted to know if something you've seen is okay or not?
This is the place to ask!
This is
NOT
another report thread.
FIRST READ THE RULES:
https://guro.cx/rules/
THEN READ THE FAQ:
https://guro.cx/faq/
AFTER THAT CHECK OUT THE FLOWCHART, TRY TO UNDERSTAND IT:
https://guro.cx/rules/flowchart.jpg
DO A SEARCH FOR MOD AND ADMIN DECISIONS REGARDING YOUR QUESTION:
https://boards.guro.cx/dis/koko.php?mode=module&load=search&searchName=%23%23+mod&searchMatchWord=on&searchOpeningPost=off
https://boards.guro.cx/dis/koko.php?mode=module&load=search&searchName=%23%23+admin&searchMatchWord=on&searchOpeningPost=off
If you can't find an answer to your question
and
it is something you think only a board official can answer,
then
ask it here.
If you want to report something, but after checking
ALL
the above are still not 100% sure if it does in fact violate the board rules, ask it here.
Surely there's more. As long as it is related to the board, you
checked everything else
and you think, that only a mod or admin can answer it, ask it here.
@mods / admin(s):
Of course you are not obligated to answer anything and you can delete this thread immediately, if you don't like the idea.
And I don't have to tell
you
even that. But after observing the board closely I thought it might be nice to have a dedicated place to ask you some questions.

following the link to home (
https://guro.cx/
) you can use frames (
https://guro.cx/frames.html
)
using frames, the links behind Overboard (404) and all the Archives (server not found) don't work.
why?

AI is missing from the flowchart.
If it is an issue of "
getting around to it
", do you need help?

I am an admin here, but I primarily concern myself with cleaning up spam and troll posts. That's how I got started with the job: The site was having a HUGE flood of troll posts, so I volunteered to help mop up the mess.
Beyond the spamming/trolling issue, I've warned a few people about posting photorealistic AI if they don't use links to off-site storage. Even then, I go with the flow that seems to be established where some cat ears, elf ears, or some other non-realistic detail is good enough to get a pass.
Unless I personally get a request to be more hard-nosed about the admin work I do I'll leave it to other admins to do more strict rules enforcement.

PS: Presuming you're the same "Anonymous" who was discussing these issues in my AI snuff girl thread, I'm going to delete all the replies there on this subject, just to keep the focus of that thread from drifting.

I understand. Just became a janitor recently to help keep the board clean.
Maybe I'm a bit over-eager. To be clear: I am
NOT
proposing to be
hard-nosed
or
a more strict rules enforcement
, on the contrary.
I'm just saying that it would be helpful to have more clarity where the line exactly is.
Looking around the net at examples like motherless, I'm concerned what might happen here.
I was under the impression, that in some cases the reason for the absence of intervention was being understaffed and overworked.
But I get what you're saying. So I'll refrain from touching or commenting any cats in the future and stick to 100% CP / Spam.
And yet, some last remarks about the rules and their enforcement. Rules, if necessary at all, should be as fair as possible.
It is fair to treat everyone equally, when enforcing rules.
To abide by the rules one needs clarity about what is allowed and what is not. Else it ends up being trial and error and that
causes at least some work cleaning up afterwards.
I'm rather sure that most people here like the board and don't want to get it into trouble.
Most other rules are there for a smooth user experience, but the one about photorealistic AI is about safety of the board itself, as I understand it.
If it is not absolutely clear what p.A.I. means, it is to be expected that the line gets crossed more often without any ill intention.
In this case, that might be bad for the board, why else clean it up at all, or make such a rule to begin with. The reason "legal reasons" is provided,
so it appears to be a serious matter.
Last example:
I was thinking about this post, when I came across your comment here.
https://boards.guro.cx/ai/koko.php?res=21829&page=1#p13_21862
The author clearly does not want to cause any harm. I did comment on the first pic in that thread, thinking that it was okay.
This one however is very much on the border in my opinion. Taken out of context it could very well be used to rile certain factions up,
or even try to build a legal case. Again, take a look at motherless, e-hentai, pixiv... purges everywhere.
Maybe I'm overly concerned, but I really don't want to lose this place. So forgive my monologue.
This is the last I will say or do in that matter. Thank you for taking the time to answer and for listening.
>Presuming you're the same [...]
I am. And do with the comments as you please, though I don't think they were breaking any rules 😉
I have to restrain myself all the time not to reorganize a bunch of threads, so I can empathize with you about that urge. Go nuts! 🙂

Hello, thanks for creating the thread.
The rules are generally simple, but for edge cases, we use a reasonable amount of discretion, sometimes discussing with users or among each other. Though please be understanding if it takes time to get a good answer ^^;
>>25094
It hasn't been updated over 2 years. I quickly updated the links for now, I will get around matching the style later on
Archives were removed (because they are no longer "archives", but carried on to the instance we post on - so no content was lost)
>>25095
>If it is an issue of "getting around to it", do you need help?
The original file is lost so I would have to make it from scratch... I plan to
eventually
get around it, but I'd gladly take help. Though I'd like to be a bit specific about it so may require some revisions if someone else were to do it
in short, a "is it made with AI" label would placed after "is it 3DCG art?" (because /s/ or /f/ adjacent AI stuff can mainly go on their respective boards. though it's not unseen someone creates a thread and posts few furries, in which case blind eye can be turned - similar on /art/).
photorealistic content (also replying
>>25099
here) is banned (
unless
linked from a 3rd party) to save us from likely headache. It's officially banned, but I'm aware there are some content pushing the limits. To my knowledge, photorealistic AI is not seriously illegal to the point of police knocking our doors, but I've worked with companies that interpret the laws wrongly (or getting pressured by international NGOs) in the past so I'm not entirely confident about being able to keep being as permissive in the future. I can however say that, at least under my administration, there will be no sudden irreversible purges. I'd make them private while a team is uploading the content to a 3rd party host or something... (this is just an idea, and not a plan)

I'm very happy, that you like the idea! And about your quick response, especially because...
>please be understanding if it takes time to get a good answer
... that is perfectly clear and absolutely understandable.
The remarks on the flowchart and following are enormously helpful and enlightening,
thank you very much.

Going to guro.cx/g/ (or /dis/ or whatever) leads to a 404. Traditionally, you should redirect guro.cx/g/ to boards.guro.cx/g/. Can that redirect be put in place?

Apparently, a large post was supposed to be cropped when seen in the board, but ends up the same thing in the thread as well, like this:
https://boards.guro.cx/g/koko.php?res=108836&page=2#p2_130169
I can’t really view the post as the system says to, because it was broken.

Thanks for telling, one of the recent software updates must have broken it.
Reverted them for now, so you can read long posts.
