    I started my Pixiv account the last year and I didn't care about tags since I was just posting things for fun (and the fact that you can only use 100 tags didn't help), so I used just a few words. Then I saw that people are actually interested in my account and I'd like to use better tags from now on. Since my pc is broken and I can't play anything, these evenings I'm browsing TONS of Pixiv images and saving the most used tags for each kind of pics (hanging, strangulation, drowning, etc) and I found out that I never used most of them. What are the tags you usually use for your works?

    you tag based on what you're posting and you should pretty much always tag since on pixiv you search stuff by tags and no tags = your image appears nowhere

    I use 拷問 (torture), リョナ (ryona) for almost everything, then more specific tags like hanging, franchise name, character name all in japanese.

    death, death by shooting, corpse, necrophilia, sexy punishment, destruction of genitals, strangling, chocking, ryona

    Search for each of these terms in the pixiv search bar to get the japanese translation used by pixiv.

    It it good to use both the english and japanese tags in your description!

    I rarely use the guro tag but allways slap the R-18G tag.

    For the R18G,what should I use? The Pixiv category or the R18-G tag? Or are they the same thing? And does the search check tge words in the title/description too?

    The reason tags are important is because pixiv will promote your pictures according to those tags. Otherwise it is questionable if that many people are using search function.

    so when tagging your pictures use tags that other pictures with similar content use.
    or you can invent your own tags if you want your other pictures to be promoted along with the current picture.

    The main tags that I use on my pictures are #loli and #shota :)
    using R18-G tag seem to be useless because you already set that category by default. but if you will set that tag I think it will be used with the same logic as other tags so if you do not reach 10 tag limit you can add it and anything else.

    Search obviously does not look at description title.
