asstr.org is down! If it is permanet we lost a great source of written guro/snuff material! The site was acting weird for a long time, the search and many options weren't working so this could be just temporary
However we should start looking for places where we can find snuff stories and make a list!

No it has nothing to do with that! The guy was not the owner of asstr and he was doing more than hosting stories! Brining this add here is either paranoia or a lame moral fag attempt at sabotage and disruption. I love how moralfags quickly search for a court case or a "strong" example when a site goes down.besides that was in 2021 we are in 2022 and asstr wasn't updated for a long time.My oppinion is that it wasn't maintained and the host scrapped for some reason or they are upgrading!

I know it's a different person but I wondered if it was due to some larger crackdown on erotica. But he was convicted, in part, simply for hosting stories (ie the same thing ASSTR does).

Linking to that here is just my paranoia. I am not a moralfag (a moralfag on GUROchan would be a really weird thing).

I know it isn't updated and is half-broken and I'm hoping it's just lazy admins and not a legal threat that brought it down. I hope it'll be up again soon. It was up yesterday.

Are there any full archives of ASSTR around?

I feel so bad when a website I care about disappears without a trace, without any warnings. This is why I've made it a habit to archive things. RIP ASSTR (;´Д`)

It might not be gone for good. The site has been broken and more-or-less unmaintained for several years and has been down before, I think. Things like the advance search haven't worked in ages and many authors no longer show up in the author list (so you have to know the exact URL to get to it).

There are still active authors on the site who are probably pretty upset right now. It's not a matter of donations because they get enough money. It's just that no one is at the helm. I really hope this is temporary. I was just on the site two days ago (first time in months I visited it) and it worked fine. Then yesterday it just stopped working. I even had a few tabs open still!

Archive.org has a few 40 gig archives from 2015 to 2017.

I think I bring bad luck to story sites. I started reading ASSTR again and the next day it went down. Then I started reading kristensboard.com which has been around for decades and literally the next day it goes to a web host account suspended message!

I used to visit in back in the .net days. Then the site went down and I couldn't find my favorite Pokemon guro story. Not even kidding.

The mirror is up but it's pretty outdated, and there were still some very active authors on ASSTR like GeorgiePorgie (even if the site is broken enough that it doesn't list recent authors and you have to know his URL) so a read-only mirror isn't ideal.
