Could be for various reasons. Some might have gotten caught by family/friends and get forced to stop making content. Others might live in a country where it is illegal to produce such content, like in China.

What do you mean? It's pretty obvious that the majority of artists just move on, it's very common. Basically disowning the edgy art and moving on to a different focus. Others have ADHD/OCD and just delete their art. I'd guess that websites enforcing censorship (like Pixiv just now) would turn some artists off entirely. That's just my opinion but other than personal reasons, I don't see why you'd be worried… After all, guro is a pretty extreme kink and I can see artists taking time off, unless you're a legend that does art that's even weirder than Guro like Shintaro Kago

Making this stuff requires lots of time
and we are usually short on that unless we are retired :)
I think it can be compared to addiction and it is enjoyable to mate that content but You don't get any chores done.


Also yes guro is pretty niche kink and even here we have lots of division between con and concon lovers and other aspects to the level where your audience becomes pretty small in comparison to doing something more mainstream
so many artists like 774 may just move into another topic.
