Yeah, the site is already suffering from low activity. Requiring email verification would have a huge impact and lower activity even more, I expect at least a 50% impact.

And for bots it wouldn't be all that hard to work around the email verification by using some bogus domain or open relay or whatever.

Gurochan is a CHAN which means it's based off of the likes of 2chan and 4chan and reducing it's anonymity is literally taking away it's defining feature.
