The old
https://www.asstr.org/
seems to be back online for the moment.
I hardly believe it can remain untouched as soon as it gains some popularity back, given the current climate, but still...
The scripts for the "Most Recent" and "Spotlights" do not appear to work but everything else is, I was able to log to my old webpage with my old credentials in the Collection section and edit the index and the modified page actually appears...
Does someone know who manages it?
Are they doing this "just because" or there's some serious intention of bringing it really back to life?
I'd love to get in touch and even contribute, financially or otherwise, if the owner is really serious in shouldering the effort.
ASSTR had been my first home as an extreme story's author and I loved it and I had many fun interactions with many wonderful authors throughout the years, I really hope it can be revived for real somehow.
PS: my collection homepage with an addition at the very bottom, if you're curious:

What was the addition? I've looked at the site, and I don't see anything obviously new. I don't remember exactly what was at the bottom of the site, but it seems basically unchanged.
I'm glad that the site exists at all again, but I'm worried the changes you made might have been local changes only, and that the new site is basically just an archive

Not only is it back, searching actually works again. Last time it was up the search function was broken.

"TEST WRITE 2026-01-25"
That's definitely new.

Ah, I see it now. I was looking for something centered, rather than left-justified, for some reason

It’s great that ASSTR is back at all (especially since asstr-mirror was dead for more than a week), but not everything is “working” the way it should: the “author” pages by first letter are still mostly blank, and some, like the “G” page, list no authors at all. It would be nice if whoever brought it back would add an operator message dated 2026, explaining how and why it’s back.

Everything works except for the advanced keyword search that stop working long before it was taken down. i think the site is here to stay as the general climate losened out a bit. I hope now they will fix the site bugs and maybe add something extra. All stories are there, nothing missing I've checked and ,just a thought, maybe our resident authors should publish there too

Dude, you (along with Georgie Porgie and Alocer Loki) were one of the authors who got me into ASSTR! You rock!
Now, is anyone going to archive the site just in case? The Wayback Machine censors ASSTR (fuck them), and I don't think we can rely on it not disappearing again. If not, would it be enough just to do "wget -mpk
https://asstr.org"?

The site asstr-mirror.org still exists and works, but with nothing recent, so at least there’s one copy of most of it if the new asstr.org goes away (hope not). Unfortunately the new ‘caretakers’ of asstr, whoever they are, don’t seem to be interested (or possibly capable) of actually taking care of it, since all of the problems asstr had before it shut down are still there. Also unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have spread through word-of-mouth (or even mot-de-bouche) and still rarely gets even one story on a given day.
I guess I’m part of that problem, and thanks to your mention here, where I occasionally lurk, I’m motivated to write something new, or at least update something old. Mind telling me what you’d like to see, or what you liked best?

I think the mirror is missing a lot of the good stuff, not just new stuff. But I might be wrong.
What I always love best is humiliation and fear. Not necessarily traditional sexual humiliation, but anything that causes anxiety. I love when everything is shown from the girl's point of view, her thought process and the way she catastrophizes, etc. It's even better when they feel angry at the unfairness of the situation. I like that much better than mere descriptions of physical events and actions in stories.
And I'd love more stories with Kaiah! (I think that was her name! I really need to re-read them now that they're back up)

I really need to finish polishing up a story with many diverse situations, The Punishers, that I’ve been thinking about the whole time asstr was dead. That should satisfy your craving for “angry at the unfairness” element.
Yes, Kaiah is her name, or Kayannah in school. And I still have nothing with her in front of an audience up on the BR&T Stage, or at the Swat Meet; what a waste of potential!
Time to get to work…

Hopefully it’s only temporary, but it seems to be non-functional again, and the outage has lasted for more than a day. I was getting close(r) to having some stuff ready to post there, but I guess I might as well wait until its status is clear again. I hope no one was holding their breath while waiting.

Well, at least it going up meant that there was someone at the helm, even if for a brief moment. I should have tried to mirror it when it was up... But I'm sure it'll be back.
