    Is it just me or are there others that are bothered by these ridiculous censorship of genitals?
    Heck, this is a guro site and depictings of blood, scat, murder, gore, piss, snuff and all the other disgusting things are considered "normal". But if a picture shows a pussy or a dick these areas are often blurred, overcoated or striked through with at least an alibi bar. This is extremely disturbing.

    are censored. Especially the last ‒ where even the guts fall out and precisely the penis is blurred ‒ is IMO extremly dumb.

    Well, if you publish in Japan, where a lot of images originate from, you have to observe the crazy censorship rules to avoid problems. All the bad things listed above are allowed, but don't dare to paint just a single pubic hair. While it's acceptable to follow the restrictions on japanese boards it is not neccessary when posting on GUROchan.
    I'd like to see that Authors only post uncensored versions of their work. Reposters should refrain from posting censored stuff or "decensor" it before uploading, at best sending the stuff to /req/ asking for an editing by an adept voluteer.

    I don't call for a rule, but I propose a strong recommendation. What do you think?

    It's a Japanese thing. Maybe someone Japanese could explain it?

    I'll bet a lot of Japanese people find it ridiculous too, especially considering the context of way-out-there porn and guro the censorship happens in. My best guess is that it's a legal technicality that gets around the way Japanese obscenity laws are written.

    Japanese law requires censorship of genitals. I agree that it's ridiculous, but it's something Japanese people have to do to avoid going to jail.

    Yes, it's a very japanese thing. And I'm not concerned about boards that have to follow japanese censorship rules. If a little line at the right place saves the posters from getting their asses grounded then that's fine with me.

    What I don't like is to find this schizophrenic stuff on GUROchan. Of course I could ignore it and compared with all problems around the world it's just a glitch.
    But already Ovid wrote in "Remedia Amoris": "Principiis obsta" ‒ "Resist the beginnings" or in other words: “Nip it in the bud!” ;)

    Are there more opinions?

    As for why. Most decent art comes from Japan, especially niche art like guro, and it's sadly something we have to deal until Japanese laws become less retarded. But after a couple years on the internet you kind of get used to it.

    Personally I'm creeped out by those anime-style drawings that depict people(who aren't the focus?) without eyes. What's the deal with that? But someone had a reason for that and others apparently enjoy them.

    Once more: It's not about japanese retarded laws. What bothers me are the crippled images on this site. It's the same as with photorealistic AI-produced pictures. The realism gives you the best feeling of fulfilling your fantasy. But the whole immersion gets busted in the moment you have to look at crippled hands or feet, which are still the Achilles' heel of AI-generators.

    Of course everybody's taste should be addressed. And all submissions should be welcomed. Well, almost all. Is it rude to ask for some adjustments, if they make other viewers at least a litte bit more sympathetic to the subject? People without eyes or with mouths instead of eyes aren't my favorites either. But I can look at it without feeling uneasy because I know that these unusual things are not a bug but a feature someone likes. OTOH censorship is meant to destruct something ‒ it's always a bug. Why not take some steps against it to improve the experience on GUROchan?


    Is resignation really the better way? Easier? ‒ for sure, but better?

    This site tends to not remove images that most people consider unfappable, which I admire. But I think the same sorta thing for people into the sub-guro categories (poop and eyeballs for nipples) would be deviantART scribble-scrabble drawings done with crayola markers on notebook paper, and horrid 90s-era photoshop looking manips. Since /d/ on 4chan started to allow most freakshow fetishes in recent years, a lot of the old userbase from those boards have moved over there, presumably because of the poor quality art clogging threads. Also the CP spam that stays up for hours at a time probably scares most of the uniformed away ;^_^

    I'm afraid I don't get your point. Do you think the migration of users from GUROchan to 4chan will increase if the posting of censored images here is marked as annoying?

    Just to remind: It is not a ban I'm asking for. I want to encourage posters to look for uncensored alternatives, to post a restored picture or upload at /req/ to find someone who can "uncensor" the image.
