The Harren are...weird. Basically in the far future some guys from a modified strain of humanity, obsessed over cranial capacity and capability, modified themselves so much that they became little more than floating skulls with manipulation tentacles floating around and farting around their 0g habitats, but they keep growing throughout life and eventually become like this, huge and immobile superbrains with trisect faces all over. Oh and their habitats are full of accidents and spontaneous cannibalism apparently.
