Which is slightly daft because the tail is actually an extension of the spine... any vestigial "legs" would be better drawn as hind fins...

amazing, a chan thread that's lasted almost a full decade. Tell your friends, tell your wife.

I wanted to draw an Oekaki but I guess the app must have been flash based and so has long since died. Ironic.

Dude! thank you! something of that magnitude deserves a bit more info.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fisherman_and_the_Syren
Not to diminish any of the other images in this thread, they are awesome.
In fact, I get tempted to comment on each and every single one of them,
but lucky 4 you, even to a jawsmith like me, that seems excessive.
Working on an idea right now, about serious gore in classical art.
This is not the former, but very much the latter. Love it.

raises the question, if glasses do in fact work under water...
apparently there are diving masks with prescription lenses available, or one can wear soft
contact lenses underneath a normal mask. I doubt that mermaids need any of those though,
perfect as they are. presumably here just a fashion accessory to lull some unsuspecting sailor.
