Mind if we have a Thread of the unholy union between metal and flesh?

This can include fanart of the Strogg from the Quake series, the Borg from the Star Trek series, and the Proxies from Frictional Games' SOMA, and Phyrexia. This can Also include original works, as long as the victim was violently and bloodily assimilated, with organs and/or muscles exposed, and the subject or machine than organic.

    I will start.

May as well repost now that the thread's found a home. megrim-haruyo.deviantart.com (source for this image) has plenty of this stuff.
    >>
    >>8756 Herp derp. I had a bad feeling and checked the Pixiv link in the previous post, and it is indeed the same person. Well at least the deviantart version doesn't require a Pixiv account xP

One can also find some neat stuff by searching for "calcium" or "calne ca" (pictured) on DeviantArt. They both belong to the same person, but there's also some good fanart around.

    >>
    >>11833 I was halfway through typing a post mentioning Blame! and what I thought about it when I had a deja vu moment and discovered I'd already done that xD

While I'm on the subject, though, Battle Angel Alita (see picture) is almost as good a source on this. The cyborgs aren't exactly "necro" insofar as their biological parts are alive and well, but the manga features plenty of bizarre and freakish cyborgs throughout.
And best of all, sooner or later James Cameron is supposed to be making a blockbuster film about it (whenever he finally gets the Avatar franchise over with that is)!

So, I ended up using these in a 4chan quest. The Metabolic Extension Controller is used by the Omega in order to bypass Divine punishment, and keep high-value soldiers functional past the point of death.

MEC troopers are converted into "heavy MECs" (see thread's first picture) when tissue repairs become unviable.
