I think there's just a strong disconnect between artists and patrons. If we want more content we should see about commissioning something or supporting an artist.
For anyone who doesn't feel like opening your wallet, just try and be mindful looking for the source of something you post. A little bit can go a long way. When artists find out there's a demand and they get more traffic from it, we might all benefit from what they produce as a result.
