After a couple months of waiting, it had finally come in- Pix's Gro-Clone kit. He'd been a little suspicious at first, but his goat friend said that it improved his quality of life in a major way. An inflatable golem that obeys your every command... even if it can't lift anything heavy, he could see the appeal of having an extra pair of hands.
Directed to the website, Pix filled out a quick questionnaire and sent in some photos of himself... he had been saving up for a few months and was prepared to pay a pretty penny, but the total was MUCH cheaper than he expected. 'Why doesn't everyone have one of these?' He thought.
Pix decided to take the kit over to his friend's house; he was the expert after all, and he offered to troubleshoot if anything went wrong. How nice!
Arriving mid-afternoon, he rapped on the door, package in hand... but no one answered. He waited a few moments, but right before he was about to knock again he could make out a hurried "Coming!" from the other side, and soft paws thumping their way towards the door.
The door swung open with a "hiya!" before the goat bent and clutched his knees, panting. "Sorry, was just... in the middle of some... uh, exercise, huff... Anyway, you got it?"
Pix held up the green and blue cylinder. "Yup! I know it's probably not as big a deal as I'm making it out to be, haha..." He chuckled, putting his hand behind his head.
"Aw, I don't mind!" The goat giggled back. "And there's some things you can do to... let's say 'optimize' the experience I can teach 'ya. Anyway, come in!" He swings his arm to direct Pix inside.
Walking around, Pix noticed the distinct lack of the goat's clone... seemingly picking up on his confused gaze, he goat answers, "Oh, him? I put him away for the day. Could mess up the process after all." Pix wondered what kind of interference an obedient golem could cause, but decides not to question it. He's the expert, after all.
"Oh, but I have the head over there!" He gleefully points to the coffee table. The head makes a creak as it turns to look, before rocking back and forth upon seeing the package Pix is holding. "He must be excited to have a new friend!" the goat chimes in.
Before he could think about it, the goat excitedly snatches the box from Pix's hands and sets it on the living room rug, unscrewing the lid. He fishes out a color coordinated pump and plugs it into a nozzle located on the belly- upon flipping the switch, it whirs to life and the rubber facsimile of him fills out until he's staring into his own, squeaky reflection. It was... kind of hot, to be honest. Did that make him narcissistic?
"So... that's it?"
"Well... not quite." The goat smirked. "This is where that optimization I talked about comes in. While it's perfectly usable right now..." He bends down on his knees and motions for Pix to do the same, "...blow into here."
"Uh... why?"
"It optimizes things!"
He still wasn't sure what was being optimized, but he shrugged and put his lips to the nozzle. He's the expert, after all.
Pix took a breath and puff, puff, puffed into the inflatable. He thought it had looked pretty full before, but it felt like there was definitely SOMETHING being filled.
Puff, puff, puff.
Puff, puff, puff. He was feeling lightheaded. Maybe he should take a break.
Puff, puff, blooooooow. 'Why can't I quit?! Stop!'
Bloooooooooooooow.... his vision was tunneling... the last thing he saw was a blur of grey in the corner of his vision catching him by the shoulders.
When Pix awoke, things looked different. He couldn't move his eyes, and it looked like there was a veneer of vinyl covering his eyes. He also felt uncomfortably tight, like he was wrapped up in a duvet that he couldn't take off. He tried to speak, but nothing came out. He tried to blink, but nothing happened. 'What's going on?!'
"Ough... I wasn't expecting it to be so intense." Pix heard himself. But that wasn't him.
"Yeah, the first day or two is a bit rough. Just remember to breathe, and blink. Give it enough time and you'll start doing it automatically."
"Ah, thanks... I think I'm better now." Pix sees himself stand up and in front of him- like a mirror, but this time he's on the other side. His reflection is smirking.
"Heyyy~ Thanks for the body, and the new maid." His own body pokes him in the nose, and that's when he notices it caves in far further than it should... and that's it's far rounder than he remembered it being. "Don't worry, I'll let you hang out with your friend... if you're good."
'What does he..? Wait...' He turns his neck with a sqrk to look at the head on the table. 'Oh no...'
Panicking, he tries to tackle his body thief-
"Freeze." Instantly, all of Pix's joints locked up. He feels like a robot full of rust. "Hah, so this body really does have admin privileges. Hmm... then, bring me a glass of water." Almost instantly he feels his body jerk, each step towards the kitchen eliciting ruffling and squeaking from vinyl on vinyl. To his surprise he's surprisingly dexterous, fishing the glass out of the cupboard and carrying it back to his new master. He hated to admit it, but... this was really hot.
The new Pix smirked. "Good boy."
THIS WAS REALLY HOT.
Pix was so beside himself that he simply stood there as his usurper awkwardly gripped it, each finger individually wrapping around the glass, before he brought it to his lips. He let out a cough at the first sip, but by the second he seemed to have gotten the hang of it. The goat gave him a little golfer's clap. "You're a fast learner!"
"Anywho," his clone broke him out of his stupor, "I think we need to go home and... test some functionalities." He looked up only to see his own face staring him down with an expression of pure superiority.
"You like this, don't you?"
Sqrk!?
"After that initial command to stop, you haven't tried anything. You could have done something just then, but you didn't. If you really hated this, you'd be trying harder, don't you think? You do, since you're me."
He leans in. "Answer me... honestly."
Despite himself, despite the fact that he knows his friend has been at the mercy of an inflatable phony for who knows how many months now, despite the fact that he's getting ordered around by a blow up doll... Pix nods.
"Good boy."
SQRK! He can't blush in this body, but if he could his face would be bright red.
"Then let's go home, toy."
The toy fidgets around, visibly flustered.
"What? I'm Pix. Toys don't get names."
Sqrrkk... creak~
