Grete Minde was a woman who was burned at the stake 1619 in Germany. Her crime was not witchcraft, but arson as a great fire destroyed much of the City Tangermünde 2 years earlies. Some say she was made culprit because of a possible legacy she was deemed to get. After she confessed under the torture, she was sentenced to death. Here execution was very brutal, even for that time. The executioner ripped each finger of her right hand with steel pincer, the pressed glowing hot irons on her arms and breasts. The she was chained to a post and burned alive.
