Quite the tragic story that you could come up with by looking at these two images. Thousands, even millions of soldiers died during major wars of recent time and each had a life story to tell and people that will miss them when they are dead. Quite crazy how in times of war all of that doesn't matter and it is just about killing or being killed.

Anyway on a less sentimental note I'm surprised to find out that the artist of these pictures made this image, which i had seen before.

I love the stuff that he is doing, explaining how soldiers of the time would actually hold their rifles and how he tries to educate the community to make a more accurate portrayal of that era.

As someone who served and is a military history nerd i really appreciate that a lot.
