There is a readme in the game files, yes. However it's in Japanese so you'll need a program to translate it.

If you need money, the best source is the work area. Warrior's Guild->Mercenary Action is the largest money, but requires a good army. If you don't have one, do one of the other randomized tasks in the work area. Your character has a skill level associated with each job. It will try to give you a task close to your base stat level and the reward is based on your skill level in that task. So the more do a task, the more money you will make, even if you fail.

I found the farm wasn't very helpful considering how much money you have to put into it. Basically you can drop off captured girls there and they will increase the population and reputation of your farm. You can sell the girls as mercenaries, sex slaves, labor, or, if your reputation sucks, as food. Each of the 3 rep stats increase the price your slaves will fetch as a mercenary, sex slave or laborer. Selling girls does not lower rep, but does lower population. Having sex with the girls and using cards also increases population. You can also use cards to increase their rep with training. Investing 3g in the farm increases the population cap so you can sell girls in bulk.
