Not really. Bloodiba's games are in a class of their own. Nothing similar really comes to mind. Sorry if I made #2 sound too difficult, but really my problems came mainly from the english translated manual that comes with it.

There was an action you can take for free every round that said "This has no down side". It's a rather poor translation, but I took that at face value. So I did that every turn and it made my army stronger, but also increased their upkeep. Eventually I would run out of money. I later figured out what actions affect what resources and was able to avoid losing too much of anything.

I think the first game also has one of these manuals.
