As far as he told it, he initially drew Guro art because at first he found it interesting on a technical level, but it had no other appeal to him. He kept having to fall back on drawing Guro because his other ventures never worked out financially. Eventually that technical appeal wore off and he burnt out hard drawing stuff he didn't really like at all just because it was what was paying the bills at the time.
