my initial guess was that it was either my antivirus, or the fact that i like to download my games to an external drive. as far as i can tell, my driver is updated, but idk. i don't like messing with my antivirus too much, but i tried disabling the one i use most, but it didn't work and when i tried moving the file to c: it didn't change anything, either. i know the problem is most likely caused by some form of idiocy on my own part, but i just can't figure out where the problem lies.
