Technically speaking, you're only obligated to accept a surrender if you're able to take prisoners without endangering yourself. Allied forces pushing through France towards the end of the war ended up having to execute German prisoners simply because they were moving too fast and capturing too many to be able to secure them all. If she's on her own, then one surrender would essentially lock her in position if she was forced to accept it, so she has even more justification
