At Fantastic Four #324,Mantis was abducted by Necrodamus and to be executed in a dark ritual.
Necrodamus planned to open her chest and rip her living heart when the nine planets aligned themselves so that he could drain life energy from a Celestial Madonna`s heart and gain eternal life.
If the sacrifice had not been stopped by Conqueror Kang,she would have confronted a bloody end.
Watching her rib cage slowly cut off by a silver dagger,she could only scream helplessly.
