Well i think it is ok for her.

it is some work but you can get around that by hosting your own site and using Patreon as a login. that is what i am doing at http://eyeteeth.club . i do it with wordpress, there is a free plugin you can use to link your Patreon to your site and let people login through patreon.

another way to do it that is free (or less expensive, i don't know) is to send updates out through dropbox. basically subscribers get a download link for every update, and after a few days you take the link down so nobody else can download it.
