It should be obvious, but this long-ish story is based on the short story Introducing the Spartan Spitter by KaosAngel. I figure, someone watching the infomercial it described must have been the perfect target audience, and their story would probably be worth telling, so here it is. A condensed version of the original twenty year old short story is embedded in the first chapter, so if you haven't read it, consider this a spoiler warning. I ended up cutting out some good parts to fit it into the flow of my own story, but hopefully it didn't suffer too much in the process.

As usual, I finished the first draft of the entire story before posting anything, but this time I plan to wait a day or two before posting each chapter. If you guys have feedback / suggestions, it's possible that I will be able to work in some changes to the next chapter.
