Was not aware of that particular definition (and the dictionary I use doesn't differentiate it)... it was a last-minute addition.

Thanks for the compliments. (But one error: this is just my first real
guro
story, and the first involving dissection/vivisection, not the first thing I've ever written period. I have had some experience writing non-guro fics.)
Quote: "I agree with the rest that it was a bit too mechanical since there was barely any reaction from the victim. A look at her thoughts as it was happening would have went a long way. Maybe a scene at the start of the story as Starlight was delivered to Twilight (and before she got paralyzed) would have at least given the reader an idea of how the criminal was taking this situation."
Eh... it was kind of a first/second draft (the first being the version I wrote up by hand; the second being the version that came about as it was typed up, which added or altered some stuff - the "saving her organs for transplant" and the ritual for the eyes, were both added in that stage; it also confirmed the idea of Liza becoming Twilight's apprentice and permanent assistant, rather than just a potential harvest waiting to happen, which was hinted at in the first draft). I think I'll start working on a third draft next, to try and improve this one.
Quote: "But don't let us nitpicking your story discourage you. You obviously have talent and I'll look forward to read your next story."
Nitpicking, nothing. This is helpful advice. It tells me what I have to fix when I do the next draft and future works.
