Well, since Applicant for Death and a TV show were mentioned…

I have an idea that is basically what if Applicant for Death was not a shady illegal video thing, but a perfectly normal kids/teen show legally broadcast on TV (or Internet, because who even watches TV nowadays). The show itself is pretty much the same, only probably instead of some obscure room it is filmed on a stage with live audience, since there's no reason to hide or anything.
The attitude is just that dying in various fun ways is, well, fun. Not even necessarily sexual. And maybe even considered rather childish. Which is why its all (or mostly) about children and teenagers. The participants are naked just like in the original Applicant for Death and both by themselves and by the audience that nudity is just taken for granted, it's perfectly casual for people, especially children, to be naked in this world (after all its even casual for them to die for fun). And even if some actual sex or something close to it gets involved, it's not vied as much as sexual, as just a part of the overall fun and play.

This idea is inspired by two stories that I read here on gurochan.

One was actually titled Applicant for Death, set in the same universe as the original apparently. And there was a comment on it asking to write another chapter with some characters from some anime or something. And the author replied it doesn't work that way. But I thought: why not? Actually it could work just fine. Kinda like these random snuff show stories, but probably better, because it would be more actually character-driven. It could even work like a setting where any author can contribute with a character of their choosing. Though I guess in that case I should give up on it being a show for kids specifically. But maybe there can be an adult (and more sexual) and a kids (and more innocent) versions of the show, like regular Applicant for Death and Applicant for Death Kids or something.

As for specific characters, I imagined the Vocaloids, especially the Kagamine twins.

Now, another story I drew inspiration from, I don't recall what it was titled, but it was about a show about terminally ill girls choosing to die in fun ways for the entertainment of the public because if they were going to die anyway, why not in a fun way. And the story was told from the perspective of another two girls who were watching that show on the Internet.

So this gave me the idea to start the Vocaloid story in a similar way, with the Kagamine twins watching the show. Len would find it quite fun and say how it would be cool to take part in this show, but Rin would be less interested, as in this scenario she is the more serious one among the twins, kinda like in Ikiro, so she considers it to be kinda silly, but not because there's something wrong with dying, just that its a kinda childish kind of fun.

But then Len applies to the show for the both of them and Rin just goes along because why not. Maybe her attitude is kinda like in that 100 words story where Len buys a guillotine and she goes "any toy is okay that keeps the baby at play". So when the part of the show comes where they are asked why and how they want to die, Rin would shrug and be like "It's not that I _want_ to die, Len just kinda dragged me along", but instead of worrying that it might mean she's not really consenting everyone just laughs at it, including Rin herself. After all, sine she _is_ already here, she _is_ consenting, just her reason for that is, well, kinda funny apparently.

As for the method of death, since I've already done a double hanging in Die Young, let's say in this story Len comes up with the idea of them being crashed between two glass (so that the audience can see) plates, pushed into each other, also viewed as a kind of ultimate cuddling (when he announces that, Rin might laugh at how silly and childish that is, but by that point probably in a kinda endearing way). So like one lies on top of the other, but their heads are on the same level to the side of each other and turned to look at each other, so that their heads don't get crashed before their bodies are, so they have time to properly enjoy it, and then in their last moments Len looks at Rin with "so, now you see how fun it is?" expression in his eyes, and she looks back smiling "yeah, it totally is, thank you for bringing me here." Maybe it can have a theme where she still thinks it is childish, but now instead of thinking being childish is below a big girl her, she remembers the fun of being a child and she can enjoy it once again and is happy about it. Like in that recent Christopher Robin movie… probably… I assume… I mean I haven't actually watched it, but it sounds like that would be the theme of that movie.

What for other characters, Miku, whose performance they probably watch in the first part of the story, might go for skinning as the ultimate form of her exhibitionism fetish that she usually has in my stories.
If there are more parts with other Vocaloids, Tianyi might go with some variation of a blood eagle that is somehow made more angel-themed.
Haven't thought of anything specific for other characters yet, expect maybe Piko gets his dick cut off? Like because he's always confused for a girl and somehow that leads to this.

So, erm… yeah. I guess that's it for this idea.
