To add to my earlier comment about the slightly dodgy English sometimes being a positive,

"…then squeezed a piece of tape…"

is a perfect example. Usually we would say "stretched" or "pulled" rather than squeezed. But "squeezed" is great, it's a bit different, and works fine - I kinda imagine it pressing against her face as he unrolls it.

Of course that's just my opinion and it's not at all becasue I'm obsessed with pressing and squeezing in any way…
