Long ago I wrote a story with a method of murder similar to this one. Recently with my arrival on Fetnoir I took the opportunity to rewrite it. Enjoy it!
The Tax Man
It was almost 11 am when Offman reached the address they had given him. The house was absolutely not the one the boy expected. Lavish, built with large pink and white stones, with a large garden surrounded by a perimeter wall with sharp black bars. He would have imagined something more sober.
The doorbell rang, almost a minute passed before someone answered.
"Who is it?"
"My name is Offman. Is Mr. Jabari at home? "
"Come on in"
The gate slowly began to move. Offman got back in the car and entered the courtyard. The place was well cared for, the grass was freshly cut and the hedges were well maintained, the road was made up of small white pebbles. He arrived in a small parking lot. One next to the other was a red and black motorcycle and a black car with blue trim. The bike looked like a Yamaha judging by the emblem but Offman had never been interested in motorcycles and couldn't say more. The car was a Mini, even this was an unexpected detail for the boy.
He parked his car and headed for the entrance, the door was already open.
"Can I come in, Mr. Jabari?"
"Come in, kid, I was cleaning up"
Xavier Jabari, the Agency's star, was nothing but an old man, balding, gray hair, a black bandage on his left eye. He was wearing a light blue jumpsuit and a pair of slippers, holding a rag and a bottle of detergent in his hands. Some disappointment flashed in Offman's eyes.
"Excuse the look, I usually dress better but I would never want to dirty my clothes. Does the Agency send you? "
Offman shook his head to recover "Yes, I had to bring you this" he handed him a brown envelope, for A4 sheets, from the thickness it contained several inside.
"Put it on the table, I'll read it later," the man said, continuing to clean the house.
Offman obeyed and left the package. He looked around disoriented: his task was over, he could leave, but when would he have the opportunity to meet Xavier Jabari, the Agency's most famous killer again? That man was a living legend, with hundreds of missions behind him. Yet that old man in slippers looked nothing like the image that Offman had made of him.
He returned to the door and, awkwardly, turned to the man.
"So … I would go away. I delivered the package … "
Xavier smiled "You imagined me different, didn't you?"
"Yes indeed"
"First rule boy: don't judge someone by appearance. Dark glasses, leather clothes, stilettos, sculpted muscles, they don't make a killer! There are dozens of them in that way that they recruit each year. They last two missions, they are like a magnet for looks. Invisibility, don't attract attention, mingle with the crowd. These are the real weapons! Keep me this. "
He handed him a heavy vase with a plant and cleaned the piece of furniture on which it was leaning.
"I heard they call you the Tax Man, is it true?"
Xavier laughed "An old joke and you are condemned to life. I prefer to quote Benjamin Franklin to explain its origin. In this world nothing can be said to certain, except death and the Tax Man. It is not a name that I often use but sometimes it makes me laugh. Put that vase back down, thanks. "
Offman obeyed, now intrigued.
"I've heard a lot of stories about you. Is it true that you can kill someone with a clothespin? "
The man stopped dusting, a sinister grin appeared on his face. Offman shuddered for a moment.
"Over there, in the top cabinet, there should be some whiskey. Pour a couple of glasses and join me in the living room. "
Offman obeyed, still a little shaken. It was enough a strange expression of that man to give him the chills. Perhaps it was just suggestion because of all the stories he had heard about him but he had never seen such a sneer.
When he arrived with the two glasses of whisky, Xavier was waiting for him sitting on a chair, holding a framed photograph in his hand.
"This is Fawn"
Embraced him, in the photo, there was a beautiful Asian woman, raven-black hair shoulder lenght, brown eyes, smiling.
"She was a beautiful woman, intelligent, with a fix for boots"
"Were you friends?"
"We've been great friends for years, worked at the Agency with me. She wasn't a killer, if this was your next question, she gave field support, information and planning. But she wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty when needed."
"What happened to her?"
"They caught her stealing money from the Agency. And of course they gave me the job of killing her"
——————————-
Fawn advanced confident on the sidewalk, contemptuous of those around her. A tight black leather dress, black leggings, large dark glasses and red lipstick on the lips. Her white skin complemented the woman's color picture. Inevitable, in the style of Fawn, a pair of boots with heels also black, high up to above the knee. A distinctive sign compared to the dull women around her, in sandals or sneakers. She attracted people's looks and she liked it.
Xavier watched her from afar, praying in her heart that the woman would not stop in the shoe store fifty yards ahead, he didn't have all day to wait for her.
Fawn entered the shop hopping for a moment like a schoolgirl. To the saleswoman who came to meet her to help her, she answered with a dry "No". She brushed the tips of those wonderful boots on display shaken almost by a shudder of pleasure. She needed those boots! She didn't need it but she NEEDED IT! Like a child in a toy store, she seized three pairs and slipped into the dressing room.
"I hate her when she does this"
Too many times they had been shopping together, he certainly wasn't going to wait for her today that he had to kill her! Xavier looked at his watch, it was five in the afternoon. There was no point in staying there, as much as going to her house. He walked towards his motorcycle to anticipate his prey.
Fawn left the shop an hour and a half later after leaving a few hundred pounds in their cash registers. She had only one shopping bag in her hand, the others would have them sent home.
Outside her home gate, she found Xavier and his motorcycle. He was impeccable, with his gray suit and charming smile.
"Hi, Fawn. Everything good?"
"Hi Xavier! It's a long time since I've seen you! "
"I was a month in France, a witness who didn't want to be found"
"Are you here to visit a dear friend?"
"Unfortunately I'm here for work Fawn. I have to ask you some questions if it's not a problem "
"No problem. Follow me, I'll let you in "
Xavier sat in the chair, Fawn's furniture was original to say the least.
"Am I offering you something? I have whiskey if you want! "
"You spoil me too, honey"
The woman came back to him with two glasses, a large one full of whiskey, one tall and slender, with cold sparkling wine inside.
"Prosecco?"
"As always Xavier" she raised the glass "To old friends?"
"To old friends," he replied, touching the woman's glass with his own. They both took a good sip of their drink and spent a few minutes talking about the latest events in their lives.
"So, Xavier. Should you have asked me any questions? "
"Operation Yellow Eagle, do you remember?"
Fawn made an effort "Give me a hand …?"
"Chicago, three months ago"
"The Umber sisters, right! I remember, with the Dollhouse killer "
"Exact. There have been payment irregularities for that mission. Money has been lost in the various rounds of money from one account to another. Four million dollars disappeared in who knows what foreign account. "
"And what do I have?"
"You were the support for that mission, you took care of the transfer of funds"
"And you think I got those 4 million?"
"You said it, not me"
She got offended "Don't say crap, if I had taken that money I certainly wouldn't have stayed here waiting for you"
She leaned against the fireplace and looked at Xavier again. She didn't see any weapons on him but she couldn't be sure.
"It must have been Randy, he was wandering around that operation like a fly on shit, I always had it in my way, you should goes to question him instead of wasting my time!"
"Fawn, I'm not here to question you, they've already given me the job"
"Bullshit. They have no proof” She put her hand in the woodshed.
"And since when do they need it?"
Fawn pulled out her hidden gun and pointed it at Xavier's face, he raised his hands.
"Hey, calm down, calm down, don't get upset"
"Don't tell me to calm down, you came to kill me!"
"It is true but so much that gun is useless, I entered and I unloaded it before you arrived"
Fawn noticed that the gun was heavier than usual, almost unable to hold it. Her friend's face was starting to get blurred.
"And I also drugged your Prosecco"
"Xavier …" she whispered, frightened.
"Today I am not Xavier, I am the Tax Man. And I came to collect."
Wobbling on her boots, the woman fell to the ground faintly, Xavier grabbed her before she reached the floor.
————————
"Planning. It is the most important part of a mission. She had practically died since she put her lips on that glass "
"And then what happened?" Asked Offman, speaking for the first time since the old killer had started his tale.
"What always happens in such a situation. There is a punishment for traitors. I undressed her, tied her up and raped her all night "
"Wasn't she your friend?"
"Boy, Fawn hasn't become anything but a target for me since they gave me the job. The rules in this job are hard and she knew them well "
He finished drinking the contents of the glass "The poor Fawn had excellent tastes in whiskey".
Offman looked at him confused "Is it the same whiskey?"
"It's the same bottle, we opened it last night. You weren't the smartest in your class, were you? "
"Is this her home?"
"Obviously. This place is too flashy, too lavish for my taste. "
"And Fawn?"
"She's still there tied to the bed"
"Alive?"
"On a practical level, yes. But as I told you, she had died since she drank from that glass "
It took Offman a few seconds to formulate the next question.
"Can I see her?"
"Sure boy, let's go visit our friend. So I show you how to kill with a clothespin "
The door swung open on Fawn's bedroom. Lying on the mattress, there was the woman that Offman had seen in the photograph. She was completely naked, tied tightly with open arms to the headboard of the bed, three pieces of fabric tape fastened her mouth firmly. She was sweaty, her hair was untidy. On the body, spots of sperm and some bruises, traces of makeup on her face had soiled her cheeks. Offman couldn't help but notice that the only piece of clothing she wore was a pair of black boots, knee-length.
"Fawn will introduce you … did you tell me your name?"
"Offman, sir"
"Fawn will introduce you to Offman, Offman will introduce you to Fawn"
The woman started kicking, for sure she had saved her strength for a while. The screams were easily choked by the tape but Xavier came up to comfort her.
"It's all right Fawn, everything's fine, he's a friend …" he stroked her cheeks as she tried to hit him with a heel of her boot "I love it when you're tough. It will all be over soon, you'll see! ”He walked away as she continued kicking trying to turn her shoes into deadly weapons.
"My idea. She came home with a new pair of boots, I thought she might like to die wearing them" He rubbed his own arm "Actually tonight she hit me a couple of times but it only added to the fun " .
The woman looked at the two men with hatred, breathing heavily with her nose.
"Fawn is a tough woman. Even after a night of violence she did not lose her fighting spirit. But sooner or later they all break, I guarantee you" He pulled out a clothespin from his pocket "And now the magic. Squeeze her nose with this one. It is her only airflow at the moment. She has no way to take it off so tied up. It is like suffocating someone but you don't have the slightest effort "
It was such an obvious solution that the boy laughed. Xavier headed for the headboard with the clothespin in his hand. Fawn looked at him, shaking her head, eyes wide with fear.
"You were a real friend Fawn, it was a pleasure to work with you" he grabbed the woman's head with one hand to make her stay still and squeezed the clothespin on her nose.
He took two steps back, coming back to Offman.
"Look at her! She's choking and we don't move a muscle "
Fawn started kicking but the two killers were out of reach. She held her breath and knew she could even get three minutes in apnea under normal conditions but those were anything but normal conditions. With all the strength she tried to tear off the ropes that held her hands but it was a useless effort. She began to shake her head whirling to the right and left to try to blow up the clothespin, but even that proved to be just a waste of energy. She cursed mentally "I had to buy cheaper clothes pegs!" A little more than a minute had passed but she felt she was at the limit, she looked in the direction of Xavier.
"Look how wonderful. She is already dead, her body no longer belongs to her" she grabbed and gripped one of her breasts" Only that she has yet to accept it ".
"Fuck Xavier, I'm not dead yet. And if I can free myself from here I'll kick your ass up in Lapland! And if I get my hands on that lousy Randy, I …" She felt the boy's hand rummaging in her smooth vagina, fiddling with her clit "Wait, stop! You can not…"
"Look at her eyes, alternates states of anger with states of fear, is completely at the mercy of events"
Offman watched aroused as her throat muscles writhed in search of an air molecule, her breasts lowering and rising as Fawn tried unsuccessfully to fill her lungs.
"As I told you, boy, her body no longer belongs to her, I take my share."
Fawn watched as Xavier climbed up her with half-dropped pants and penetrated her. Pushing back and forth using the woman's shoulders as a grip, he pressed on her chest already short of air.
She realized with horror that she could do absolutely nothing to prevent it, that the air was rapidly running out. She looked sideways, Offman was watching her. She tried to beg for mercy, he was the only one who could save her at that moment but he did nothing but look at her and smile, an erection evident in his pants.
Her eyes were watering, the pressure in her chest and throat was getting stronger and more painful, she was dying and all for a fucking clip on her nose. She think back to Xavier's words, "She is already dead, she just has to accept it". She couldn't accept it, not like that. Not for something she hadn't done. And that maniac above her enjoyed his fucking fuck!
The minutes passed and the woman below Xavier moved less and less, there are only occasional movements of the pelvis. It wasn't long before the only movements of her body came from the pushes of the man inside her. Fawn's eyes were staring into void. She was dead.
Xavier continued for a while, grabbing and squeezing the woman's breasts as his penis entered and exited. He came inside her with a prolonged pleasure moan.
He looked at her lifeless eyes, took off the tape and the clothespin. A red mark remained evident on the woman's nose. He gave her a light kiss on the lips.
"Goodbye Fawn"
He stood up smiling. As he was leaving her, he noticed that the woman was releasing a clear stream of urine.
Offman caressed the inside of the woman's thigh.
"Do you think I can take a ride?"
"And who prevents you? I've already had my share and she" he squeezed her breast "She has no say in the matter"
Excited, Offman climbed onto the woman's body and penetrated her with his erect penis.
As the boy enjoyed the woman's body, Xavier headed for the kitchen. He poured another glass of whiskey. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the envelope that Offman had brought there. He might as well have a look at it.
Inside there were several accounting and email printouts. He read everything with care.
Offman continued to have his moment with Fawn's body when Xavier entered the room.
"Do you know the envelope you brought here? There were some documents, some compromising emails. It seems that it was Randy who stole the money, they got rid of him already."
Offman felt a sudden wave that he could not control, stepped out of Fawn and with his cock in his hand spurted on the woman's chest. He caught his breath for a few seconds
"Do you mean that Fawn had nothing to do with it?"
"Obviously our friend was just the victim of a funny coincidence"
He gave her a couple of pats on the cheeks. "Not bad. It was a fantastic night."
Offman looked at the woman's terrify face. She was innocent then. Maybe they should have read those papers first.
"I have a question, Mr. Jabar"
"Tell me well"
"In his sixty …"
"How old do you think I am?" The killer looked at him with his only half-closed eye, waiting.
Shit. "Sixty-two?"
Xavier shook his head "I'm 58. But I forgive you, everyone thinks I'm older."
"I wanted to tell you: in your 58 years you killed hundreds of people. Is it true that you see their faces during dreams?"
"Sometimes it happens. It's the nights when I wake up with white spots in my underwear"
Offman remained silent for a few seconds and then began to laugh nervously.
