I just did not understand if this story started fresh or from where the first part left :)

Although ideologically I would rather prefer that instead of saying they never get to hold violin or VR in their hands, they should rather be happy that they will not need any of that anymore ;)

Saying they will not get to do it would imply more that they stay alive but incapable of doing that:)

This gave me an idea for another story where those two receive gifts they wanted for so long but instead of trying them they make sure they cannot use them ever and then fantasize how great it would have been.
