Yes, I understand it and it is fine, as this paradox seems to be the main topic of many of your stories.
But I mean that if they are dead they do not need it anymore too, so they cannot experience that "loss", their dreams die along with them.

On the second thought if you refer to that issue just as their subjective motivation for doing such thing it makes much more sense :)
Motivation does not need to be entirely rational or logical.
Now after all that thinking and seeing it from another perspective, I actually like your idea even more.
Killing themselves so that they would never need to experience those things would be way less fun ;)
