I was thinking on something along those lines. The stage moms don't do that for their children's welfare but their own ambition (in this case, money and the possibility of interacting with the very upper crust of society). Plus, the daughter could survive and have her future ensured (like university trust funds), and would be a very infrequent and hush-hush affair reserved for jaded billionaires like the movie Indecent Proposal, or something like that.
