Just had a thought about a variation of the Sydney-universe, I don't know if you like it, but what do you think about all the girls until 4yo to be considered legally meat (not need to notify authorities for possible butchering/cooking). I think that it would speed the meat "production" at least to family level???? Just a thought anyway for a possible future story?
