I admit it is that exact discrepancy that I like to play with - nice people seeing the children as nothing more than food and parents indulging their daughters' desire to be cooked as if they want to visit a theme park or play a new game. I also like the idea of happy, smart girls with a full life ahead of them giving it up to be meat with no particular "respect" paid to them afterwards any more than a funeral would be held for an animal in a abbatoir! That's why I'm not so keen on farm stories where girls are raised to be meat and also why I enjoy sometimes having the girls in my stories eaten by strangers - they don't care about their name, what movies they like, whether they do well in school etc, they just see them as a menu item!
