This was a very interesting story and kinda inspired me.

The premise of my idea is the following :
What if in the future, after a few innovations, the molds could be made of a flexible material, that wouldn't be destroyed by creating the statue ?
Then you could imagine mass creating girls replicas and creating a whole industry around it.

What if for example, some designer decided to make ikea furniture based on resin or wood-like material replicas of boys and girls. He could use models to make designer chairs, tables, stools, even bedside lamps with some body modification, wine buckets, and a whole lot of diverse furniture.

Even if you stay in the "Polkan era" where the mold is one time use, if you like the idea of body modification, you could even imagine making a fountain by surgically installing some plumbing in the live kids and leaving their body time to heal. Then they could work on the exact right positioning etc by testing it live before making the mold so that the plumbing would be directly part of it.

I really like this idea you explored of kids being willing to take some pain and be destroyed to be made "eternal" in a way. And generally, I think you could explore this even further with many different twists on it.

I would, but I'm not sure I have the writing talent nor the dedication to do it. I might try to get into it some day … we'll see.
