Haha yeah parents in these stories are kinda tricky to write as in real life no loving parent would allow their child to be cooked and eaten without some major force or circumstances compelling it and would then be in floods of tears as it happened and broken for the rest of their lives which would kinda ruin the fun of essentially a porn story. On the other hand, if I wrote them as cold and indifferent to their child's suffering as they would really have to be you'd have to assume they were horrible parents and the kid volunteered to escape their shitty life which, again, would make things a lot less fun!

I settle on a kind of compromise where they see their kid being cooked as something they put themselves out for to keep said kid happy - a bit like taking them to football practice every Sunday or going along to support a school talent show.
