Completely spent, Bob and Emma staggered to their feet looked down at Kasia's blood spattered face, as she lay in a pool of her mother's fluids. She was trying to suppress a smile and although tears were running freely down her cheeks, she was betrayed by her gleaming eyes. "They were always so mean to me, and Maisie got everything!" she explained at last.

Bob looked at his wife and raised an eyebrow, then gave the girl a hand up from the mire.

The three survivors stood surveying the damage. As well as 150 pounds of flesh formerly-known-as-Magda piled up in the tray, there was blood and shredded little flecks of meat liberally sprayed about the place for some yards.

Bob reached down into the heap and dragged Maisie out by a leg. Her now crimson pyjamas were utterly soaked, making them cling to her nubile little body. It was a shame she hadn't lasted longer, but no doubt they would still find some use for her corpse.

Then a thought struck him, and he turned to Kasia. Still unsure of the transformation he had just witnessed in her, he wanted to probe her reaction. "If you hated her so much, you can have this to play with," he invited, dumping her sister at her feet.

"C-C-Cool!" stammered Kasia uncertainly. Maybe it was just a trick of the light, but her countenance seemed to have turned a darker shade, as if with innocence lost an uncanny evil had possessed her.

"But first we're all going to eat and shower," Emma said brightly.

The three of them went up to the lounge, showered and put on clean outfits.

During the meal Bob announced, "That's it for me. I'm knackered. But tomorrow is another day."

Emma gazed intently at Kasia and licked her lips. "Can't wait!"

Kasia wondered if there was much point eating, and was silently playing with her food. She squashed a ravioli with her fork and watched despondently as the minced beef and tomato sauce squidged out. "You're really going to kill me, aren't you?"

Two answers came as one.

"Of course!" laughed Emma.

"Maybe," said Bob.

Emma shot him a quizzical look.

Bob addressed Kasia, even though he was staring defiantly at his wife. "We'll see."

An uncomfortable silence settled across the room.
