Also the character of the umm... characters is nicely expressed thru dialog, so it helps flesh them out a bit.

I think Emma is a bit more crazed and maniacal in this version.

But another reason the characters are better developed, is that now I understand better who they are. Last time round, I just made shit up as I went along, and didn't really give enough thought to who they were. It's kinda funny to think that I got to know my own creations from writing about them.
