“I’m Rose, the one missing the left eye”.
“And I’m Daisy, the one missing the right eye”.
“We’re twins and we’re sick of people not being able to tell us apart”.
“So we did this when we were ten”.
“I gouged my left eye, and Daisy – her right eye”.
“We did it specifically so that people could tell us apart”.
“But it didn’t help. Apparently, for most people it takes some effort to tell left and right”.
“So unless they see both of us together, any of us is a similarly one-eyed girl to them”.
“This is why we came up with a better plan: I’m going to have my legs amputated and Daisy will bid farewell to her arms. We hope, people still can tell legs from arms”.
“But it will be lonely to attend different classes. Maybe we should pick a second disability same for both of us, so that we can be together for at least some of the lessons?”
“Good idea! Since we already lack one eye each, why not go for blindness. What do you think, Daisy?”
“With different limbs removed we won’t need our missing eyes difference anymore, so sure, let’s get rid of the remaining ones”.
