This is an amazing premise. I can not understand the objection that it is not realistic enough. Consentual snuff is not realistic, period. Anything that makes it plausible at all is a bonus.

That said, I have been thinking about how a real life "free use" world might happen. I discovered two real life conditions that, if combined, could lead to a world very much like the one described in this thread.

The first is Williams Syndrome, which results in a complete absence of fear. With no fear, people with this syndrome are completely trusting of everyone. You can tell a girl to come with you, because the Network says it's time for her to be gutted, and she will come along out of trust and curiosity.

Combine that with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. People with this condition have normal sensation, so they can feel touch like anyone else, but they can not detect pain. Most children will remove their hand from a hot stove, but this little girl will watch her flesh burn. They frequently don't notice broken bones until someone notices that their foot is pointing the wrong way.

If your dedication to reality requires it, here is a scenario to put it all together. North Korea (or your favorite evil empire) develops a genetic therapy that creates a race of soldiers with no fear and no pain. In the aftermath of the ensuing global war, these traits become dominant. Add an infallible automated system, and you have the world where everyone is suggestible, unquestioning, and excited to be the executioner or victim.
