Lately I've been thinking about executions or other organized killings that are treated casually by the ones carrying them out and overseeing them and maybe others, but not by their victims. A servant gets instructions for the day that end in being slaughtered, all matter-of-fact. A closed institute of some sort needs to make room, so they lead a girl to the termination room without bothering to tell her what's going on until she asks. A girl with psychological issues(real or imagined) is being convinced that she'll be happier with a new head. The children of criminals are taken with them, but there are no orders to release them so the guards just figure they'll be better off dead, or that it will just be the simplest way to deal with the situation.
