Lupina yawned and stretched, feeling a little irritated. Who was ringing her door-bell at this time of the morning? The clock by her bed told her that it was only a little after ten and she had only been asleep for four hours. She much preferred the night. That was when she had energy and where she felt at home. Night was her natural time. Still, if she was going to live in the human world she knew she sometimes had to abide by its customs and, by human standards, 10am was not that early at all.
“Just a second!” she yelled. Swinging her legs out of bed and slipping her feet into a pair of carpet slippers to conceal her clawed toes. She grabbed her floaty dress from over the back of the chair where she had left when she went to bed and slipped it on. She envied the human girls who could wear jeans or leggings to show off their backsides as she felt hers was particularly shapely but unfortunately, there was nowhere to conceal a tail in those so long, floaty skirts and dresses were her go-to. She knew people thought her a little frumpy and old-fashioned but it was the price she had to pay to live among them. Of course she much preferred to run naked like her ancestors, and often did when she visited the forest, where she could hunt rabbits and squirrels to her heart’s content without being spotted, but around humans she had to present as prim and modest.
She knew that wearing her long red hair up the way she was now fixing it did nothing to help the image but it was the only way she had found to conceal her long, hyper-sensitive, fur-covered ears! It was a fortunate quirk of her evolution, or perhaps some degree of interbreeding way back in her family tree, that she also had a pair of human ears, or the outer form of them at least. If one looked closely, it was obvious that there was no ear canal and that they were effectively just decorative shapes on the sides of her head but it meant that people didn’t ask questions and helped her to pass as human when among them.
Nothing to be done about her teeth, of course. She tried to keep her mouth fairly closed when she remembered but occasionally she’d forget and flash her pearly-white teeth with her long canines and sometimes people would look a little unnerved but then again, while they were prominent, they were not as long as her grandfathers and she had noticed some humans whose canines were not much shorter. Her yellow eyes could be an issue ‘though and she tended to wear colour contacts, turning them green, but for now since she did not want to keep whoever was at the door waiting she just grabbed a pair of dark glasses.
As ready as she was going to be, she went to the door. Waiting patiently on the doorstep, smiling up at her, were three young children – two boys and a girl, in cute uniforms with shorts, long socks, neck scarfs and badges on their short-sleeved shirts. Forgetting herself for a moment, Lunpina licked her lips when she saw them. Human children ate so much cake, chocolate and candy that they were plump and tender, a real treat!
She remembered those times growing up in their little cottage in the woods when human children was wander into their territory and she and her brothers would invite them home for dinner and play with them until it was time to for them to cook. Whether boiled, roasted, baked, deep-fried or grilled, they were always delicious! Looking at the six chubby bare legs in front of her, she started to feel quite hungry!
“Hello, children!” she smiled in as friendly and welcoming a way as she could despite her grumpiness at being woken up. “What can I do for you?”
“Good morning Miss Wolfe.” the tallest boy smiled politely. “We’re raising money to help endangered species in the wild and we were wondering if you have any jobs we could do around the house to help you out in exchange for a donation?”
“Well,” Lupina smiled, “that’s certainly a cause close to my heart! Come on in!” She stepped aside and ushered them inside, directing them to the living room. “This room could certainly do with some dusting!” she told them, indicating the shelves of ornaments, mostly ceramic wolves and other forest creatures, “I’ll fetch you some dusters and spray!”
“Are you okay?” the little girl asked, looking up at her with concern.
“Yes, dear?” Lupina tilted her head to one side. “Why do you ask?”
“You’re wearing your sunglasses inside!” the girl pointed out.
“Oh yes!” the wolf-lady giggled. “So I am! I have a bit of a headache, that’s all! But thank you for asking.” She stroked the chubby girl’s pretty blonde hair, her keen nose picking up the scent of her meat and blood, rich and earthy, under the sweet, slightly floral scents of soap and shampoo which clung to the surface, trying to mask her natural musk. “Back in a moment!” She took one last, long intake of breath and scent through her nose, smelling the boys too through their plainer soap and general sweatiness.
She went to the kitchen and opened the cupboard under the sink to fish out the cleaning supplies. As she stood back up, she couldn’t help casting her eye over the big saucepans, tins and baking trays that hung above her large stove. They were ridiculously too big for the rabbits, chickens, squirrels and pigeons she normally cooked of course but they were family heirlooms, given to her by her Grandma. They were, however, perfect size for cooking a nice, juicy little boy or girl! Just like the ones waiting patiently in her living room!
She took the spray and pack of dusters through to them then excused herself to finish getting up. Leaving them to work, she went back up to her room and sat in front of her mirror at her dressing table. Setting the glasses aside, she carefully put in her green contacts then put on some subtle makeup, including lipstick in her favourite shade of red. Like all her family, she technically had claws at the ends of her fingers but she kept them clipped short and filed flat so they would look like nails to anyone who didn’t look too closely. The varnish she had on them to help the disguise was flaking and cracked so she wiped it off and put on a fresh coat. Finally, she swapped her carpet-slippers for white tennis shoes then, feeling more confident and attractive, she went downstairs to see how the children were getting on.
They smiled proudly when she came into the room, happy to show off their progress! The whole shelf of figurines was dusted, as was the mantle-piece, coffee table and TV stand.
“Wonderful work!” she gushed, clasping her hands together, feeling her heart beat faster in her chest as her animal instincts fought against her desire to fit in with the human community. “Let me get you a cold drink then perhaps you can help me in the kitchen?” They happily followed her through and sat down at the antique oak table, more at home in a rustic little cottage like the one she had grown up in than a suburban terraced house like this but it was another heirloom and made her feel more at home. She took a bottle of lemonade from the fridge and poured four glasses, including one for herself, then took the tin of cookies she’d been saving for a special occasion off the shelf, opened it and set it in the middle of the table, inviting them to help themselves, which they did happily!
“So, tell me about what you’re raising money for?” she smiled as she joined them at the table and sipped her lemonade, watching with pleasure as they hungrily tucked into the chocolate-covered treats.
“It’s for endangered species in the wild.” the girl told her, twiddling one of her blonde braids in her fingers. “Lots are facing extinction because of hunting or destruction of their habitats! We’re raising money to help!”
“Well that’s very noble of you!” Lupina smiled. “I forgot to ask your names?”
“I’m Lucy,” the girl smiled. “This is my brother Billy,” she indicated the taller of the two boys, “and our friend Jim.”
“Lovely to meet you!” Lupina couldn’t help licking her lips a little as she looked at the three tasty treats. “Please, call me Lupina! Miss Wolfe makes me sound like your school teacher!” The children giggled before helping themselves to more cookies. “So, do you know what the most endangered species in the world is?”
“Umm… Is it the gorilla?” Billy asked.
“The jaguar?” suggested Lucy.
“Oh! I know this!” Jim bounced in his chair, spraying biscuit crumbs in his eagerness to answer the question. “It’s a kind of bird found in the Amazon rainforest, isn’t it?”
“All good answers,” Lupina nodded, “and all in need of protection for sure but no, the most endangered species in the world is the Lupus Sapien. There’s less than a hundred left in the whole world!”
“In the wild, you mean?” Lucy looked concerned. “Do they have some in zoos?”
“None in zoos that I know of.” Lupina shook her head. “It’s okay that you’ve not heard of them. Most people haven’t, not as something real anyway, just in stories?”
“What stories?” asked Lucy, leaning forward with the boys, intrigued.
“Ones like the Three Little Pigs, or Little Red Riding Hood.” Lupina explained. “But sadly they helped to fuel the misunderstanding of our… of the Lupus Sapien, and led to them being hunted to near extinction.”
“But I don’t remember anything called that in those stories?” Jim furrowed his brow under his mop of unruly brown curls.
“That’s because they don’t call them by their proper name in the stories,” Lupina explained patiently. “They call them a bad, mean name! They call them the Big Bad Wolf!”
“But the Big Bad Wolf IS bad, isn’t he?” Lucy protested, causing Lupina to need to breathe deeply as she swallowed down the little flash of anger and hurt at these words. “He wants to gobble up Red Riding Hood or the piggies!”
“You eat pigs, don’t you?” the young woman reminded her. “And chickens and cows?”
“Well, yes…” Lucy admitted with a slightly confused nod.
“And people don’t say you’re bad for doing that. Not most people anyway. So what is the wolf bad if he wants to eat the three tasty piggies? And just like humans eat pigs because they’re not the same, is it really so bad for a wolf to want to eat a plump, juicy little girl like you?” Lucy looked a little nervous but shook her head.
“I guess not.” She agreed. “But real wolves aren’t like that anyway! They’re big dogs, I saw them in the zoo! They don’t talk or go around disguising as grannies or climbing down chimneys!”
“Oh my dear,” Lupina chuckled, forgetting herself for a moment and opening her mouth wide enough to show her teeth but if the children noticed, then were too polite to mention them, “you’re getting confused. There’s more than one type of wolf, you know! The ones you saw in the zoo are Canis Lupus and you’re right, they’re big, wild dogs really, although still majestic, powerful and noble creatures. I’m talking about Lupis Sapiens, which are very different! In some ways, at least. Anyway,” she smiled, seeing that the children had finished their lemonades and pulling the cookie tin towards her to put the lid back on, “now that you’re all refreshed, perhaps you’d do some cleaning in here for me? I’ll make a nice big donation to your cause!” The children all nodded happily.
“Jim,” she turned to the tousel-haired little rascal, “perhaps you could wipe down all the big pots and pans over the oven?” she pointed to the hanging cookware. “Billy, you sort the cupboards and maybe Lucy, mop the floor?” She helped them find the tools they needed and filled a bucket for Lucy then sat and watched them as they worked. Jim seemed to decide that the easiest way to clean the big saucepans, roasting trays and pie dishes was to take them down and get inside. This made Lupina even hungrier.
“This one’s done!” Billy announced proudly, stepping down off the little stool Lupina had provided and closing the door of the cupboard where she kept her dried goods. “This one next?”
“Oh no, wait!” Lupina stood up but it was too late. Billy had already opened the door and seen what was inside. He gasped and all the children turned to look to see what he had found. Hanging from a hook in the ceiling was a large, black metal cage, like a bird-cage, but much much bigger. On the front was a hinged door with a sliding bolt and big padlock that was hanging loose. Like the table, it did not really fit in such a modern home but it was another precious item her Grandma had given her and Lupina liked keeping it close, with the slight hope that she might one day get to use it.
“What is it?” Billy asked in awe. “Did you have a pet Emu or something?”
“No!” she giggled, deciding to tell a version of the truth at least. “It’s a fattening cage!”
“What does that mean?” Lucy asked.
“Well,” explained Lupina, “if I buy a piggy to eat, from a farm or something, or maybe a turkey or goose, and its not really fat enough to eat yet, I can keep it in there for a while to feed it up and because it can’t move around too much, it can’t burn off any of the calories and quickly gets nice and plump!”
“Oh I see!” Lucy nodded.
“It looks big enough for a person!” Jim remarked, looking at it with interest.
“Oh I don’t know about that!” Lupina chuckled. “I don’t think you’d fit in there, would you?”
“Bet I would!” Jim replied defiantly.
“Feel free to try it out!” Lupina could not help smirking a little. “But wait!” she put a hand on her shoulder. “I can’t remember when it was last cleaned. It’s probably pretty dirty inside. You should take your clothes off so you don’t mess them up. I wouldn’t want your mum to get cross with you, after all!”
“Oh, okay.” Jim looked a little embarrassed but, egged on by his friends, quickly undressed down to his underpants which had pictures of Spider-Man on then pulled the stool Billy had been using the reach the shelves over and climbed up into the cage. “See?” he turned around to show how well he fit, even standing up. “Plenty of room!”
“Oh, my mistake!” Lupina giggled, closing the door, sliding the bolt across and clicking the padlock in place. Jim looked a little alarmed but assumed her was being pranked and took it with good humour. Having finished her mopping, Lucy had begun to dust the shelf of cook-books, taking a break to watch Jim get into the cage, but now she resumed her task.
“Wow, this one looks really old!” she pulled out a very large and weighty tome and hugged it to her chest as she carried it to the table.
“Yes, it was my Grandma’s,” Lupina explained a little anxiously, “given to her by her Grandma when she was a young girl but perhaps you shouldn’t…” but it was too late, Lucy had set the book, which looked more like a book of spells you might find in a witch of wizard’s house than a cookbook, onto the table and was looking through, eyes wide.
“These are all recipes for cooking children!” she exclaimed then looked from the cage to Lupina and back to the book, connecting the dots. You’re a… are you a… what did you say? Looping Spaceman?”
“A Lupus Sapien!” Lupina chuckled, realising there was no point hiding it any more. She unclipped her hair and shook it out, letting it hang down wild and free well past her shoulders and allowing her ears which were covered in fur the same colour to pop up. “You’re not going to tell anyone, are you?” All three children shook their heads, their eyes wide. “Good, because it wouldn’t be very good for your campaign if you got one of the last surviving members of my species hunted, would it?” They shook their heads again.
“Are you going to eat us up?” Lucy asked quietly, sounding more like she wanted information or clarification than like she was actually scared.
“Well,” Lupina smiled down at her, stroking her face, “I would love to! You all look and smell delicious! Would you let me?” She asked. “I’d make a very big donation to your cause, and you’d be helping an endangered species. Isn’t that what you wanted?”
“I… guess so?” Lucy nodded, trying to process everything. She looked to the boys for support but they were both looking utterly dumbfounded!
“Let me show you what a Big Bad Wolf really looks like,” Lupina suggested with a sly smile, “then you can decide whether or not you want to be my dinner, okay?” The children nodded dumbly again. Lupina closed the kitchen door and turned the key in the lock before taking it out and putting it on the high book shelf. Then, as the three children watched in awe, she started to undress.
First, she kicked off her shoes, revealing her clawed toes topped with little tufts of reddish-brown fur the same colour as her hair and the fur on her ears. Then she bunched up the dress and pulled it up over her head. She rarely wore underwear or a bra and today was no exception, especially as she had needed to dress quickly when the children woke her up. As the dress came off, she revealed her entirely naked body to them. Her boobs were a good size without being comical, round and firm, topped with light pink nipples. Between her legs was a thick mat of the same reddish-brown fur which extended upwards almost to her belly-button. There was lightly fluff on her thighs which dwindled towards her knees. She turned around to show them her thick, bushy tail, swishing it proudly now that it was no longer confined. A thin strip of fur extended from its root up the middle of her back, stopping between her shoulders with a lightly wider patch.
“So,” she turned back to them, licking her lips and leaning forwards, hands on the back of one of the chairs, “can this Big Bad Wolf have you for her dinner?”
“Oh yes!” Billy announced before even really thinking. Lupina giggled.
“Good boy!” she smiled. “And you?” she turned to Lucy.
“I guess?” Lucy nodded timidly. “It’s for a good cause after all, right?”
“Oh my dear!” Lupina cooed, stroking her pretty round face, “The very best! Now as for you,” she turned to Jim in the cage, “I don’t think I can manage three lovely children all in one go and, let’s be honest,” she prodded his belly with a finger through the bars of the cage, “you could stand a little more fattening. I think I’ll keep you for another day, if you don’t mind, that is?” Looking a little dazed, Jim shook his head. “Good boy!” Lupina smiled. “Now, you don’t need these any more!” She hooked a finger into the waistband of his underpants and yanked them down. Immediately, the embarrassed boy covered himself with his hands but she scolded him affectionately. “Now don’t be silly! You’re my food now, and food doesn’t wear clothes!” He demurely rested his arms by his sides and lifted his feet one at a time, allowing her to take away his underpants.
“Mmm!” Lupina gave them a deep sniff, breathing in the lovely, earthy boy-musk, then tossed them into the rubbish bin. “You too!” she turned to the siblings who had watched wide-eyed as the wolf-lady stripped their friend. “Off with your clothes then we’ll decide how I should cook you, hmm…” she pulled back a chair and sat down at the table, resting her clawed feet up on it with her tail protruding through the open back of the chair, swishing back and forth as she began to peruse her Grandma’s cookbook.
The chubby blonde siblings looked at each other for a moment, neither quite believing this situation was real, then began to undress. Lupina slowly turned the very familiar pages, not really paying attention to the recipes on them as she watched the pair undressing over the top of the book, licking her lips unashamedly now as their sweet, pink, juicy little bodies were revealed. When they were done, the brother and sister stood a little awkwardly, side by side, holding their posture a little stiff with their arms by their sides as they presented themselves to Lupina.
“Ooh delicious!” she looked them up and down then twirled her finger, instructing them to turn around. They understood and did as she asked, showing their plump round bottoms to the hungry wolf-lady before turning back. She admired Lucy’s plump vulva and Billy’s chubby little willy, their round bellies and chubby chest. Both had thick, meaty legs and arms with cute, round faces. Both looked tender and juicy and delicious! Lupina heard her tummy rumble in anticipation and put her hand on it as if to calm and quiet it.
“Now how am I to cook you?” she mused, looking down at her book once more and turning more pages until she found her favourite recipe – one that she had always enjoyed as a little cub when the right ingredients happened to wander into her family’s territory. “I know!” she tapped the page in triumph, “A Brother and Sister Pie! It’s been a long time since I had one of those,” she licked her lips again, “and you two are perfect for it!”
She turned the book around so that the children, the main ingredients, could see. It showed a boy and girl, naked and smiling, stood side by side holding hands, the girl’s hair in bunches. Then them laying top-to-tail in a rectangular tin lined with pastry so that the each could kiss the knees of the other, if they had a mind to. The next illustration showed lots of vegetables added around and over them then finally the pie crust on the top. There was a list of ingredients, of course, and a detailed method, all hand-written by a Wolf-Mother many generations before.
“What do you think?” she asked. “Would you make a good pie?” Accepting their fate now, since they had agreed to it after all, Lucy and Billy nodded, smiling happily. “Good!” Lupina grinned, standing up. “I’ll need you to help me with the preparation too, it’s a lot of work for one person! Or one wolf!” she giggled. “Now, come over here and wash your hands, please!”
Obediently, the nude brother and sister went to the sink and washed their hands with soap and water while Lupina tied her long, wild hair back so that it would not fall in the food and put on an apron over her otherwise naked body. She looked at the ingredients list then checked her cupboard and fridge while all three children looked on with interest.
“Well we’ve got the most important ingredients right here!” she tapped Lucy and Billy lightly on the head with a wooden spoon, making them giggle. “But we need to make the pastry for the pie crust. We’re going to need a lot of it!” She took out a very large mixing bowl and set it on the table. Standing on tip-toes, the children could still not see into it. “Oh dear!” she chuckled, “You’d better come up on the table!” She helped them up, Billy first then Lucy, and they knelt either side of the large bowl. She handed them each a big spoon to mix with before pouring in the flour, milk, oil, butter and salt. The pair worked industriously, mixing until they had a smooth lump in the middle of the bowl. Lupina sprinkled some more of the flour onto the table then tipped out the pasty.
“You’ll need to work on this together!” she explained, taking out a rolling pin almost as tall as one of the children and not much thinner. She watched hungrily from behind as Billy and Lucy began to roll out the pastry, kneeling side by side as they rolled the log-like rolling pin back and forth, their juicy backsides facing her, appealingly blotted with flour.
“Now we need to butter the inside of the pan!” she explained. “That will be much easier if you get inside it.” The flour-covered siblings turned to watch as she took down a large baking tin the size of a bath tub from the rack, nice and clean thanks to Jim, and set it down on the floor. She then held their hands to help them down off the table where the freshly-rolled pastry lay breathing. The pair climbed into the tin and sat with their knees tucked up at either end, very much as if they were sharing a bath, grinning up at Lupina. She handed them two sticks of butter, one each. “Make sure you get this all over!” she told them, “We don’t want the pastry sticking! But don’t worry if you get any on yourselves, that will only make you tastier!” They giggled happily then set to work, enjoying helping out in the kitchen the way they often did with their parents or grandparents, not really caring that this time it was they who would end up on the table come dinner time!
“So, are you going to feed some of us to Jim?” Lucy asked conversationally as she reached down into one of the corners, wiggling her by now well-buttered rump in the air as she did so. “To help him fatten up?”
“Mm good idea?” Lupina looked down at the delectable pair who were nearly done with their task. “I’m going to need to shave your heads.” she explained. “Perhaps I should do that before we do any more prep? So there’s not chance of getting any in the pie?”
“Sure!” Lucy giggled, standing up and stretching. “Nobody likes hair in their food!” Billy stood up too and Lupina was both pleased and amused to see his little willy standing to attention. Was it the thought of being cooked that had got him so excited? Or rubbing up repeatedly against his sister’s lovely, buttery body? A glance over at Jim’s cage showed him to be in the same condition and Lupina chuckled. Maybe the boys were just enjoying seeing her more mature, womanly body near-naked? Or were excited by being naked in front of her? Either way, she decided not to embarrass them by mentioning it.
“Let’s do Billy first.” Lupina suggested, taking out a pair of scissor and a very sharp knife from her cutlery draw. “Up on the stool, please, and lean over the sink.” Billy did as he was told and looked down into the sink with his hands gripping the edge as the wolf-lady first cropped his blonde hair very short with the scissors then used the knife to shave away the stubble, leaving the top of his head as pale and smooth as a boiled egg. Very carefully, she also removed his eyebrows then used the scissors to cut his eye-lashes as short as she dared. Giggling, Lupina gave his bald dome a little kiss then called Lucy up. Soon she too was hairless from tip to toe.
“Much better!” Lupina grinned. “Two oven-ready little children for my pie! Now, let’s cut the pastry to line the tin then you two can chop the vegetables while I make the gravy.” With a fresh knife, Lupina cut the pastry to size then carefully, between the three of them, they lifted it from the table and lowered it into the tin. Instructed by the wolf-lady, the two children leaned over the edge to push it into the corners, giving her once again a lovely view of their very appetising young bottoms! “We need to turn the rest of this into the lid of the pie,” Lupina explained as she gathered up the discarded edges of the pastry into a single lump for rolling back out, “I have a fun idea!” The children looked at her expectantly. “How about, instead of using the rolling pin, you flour up and roll over it yourselves?”
The siblings agreed enthusiastically and quickly began patting each other down with the flour which stuck to their buttery young bodies, giggling as clouds of fine dust rose up around them like smoke. Then Lupina helped them back onto the table and they began to roll back and forth on it, arms stretched out above their heads, until the pastry was flat once more. Watching from his cage, Jim felt a little jealous and wished that he could join in the fun. He hoped that when his wolfish captor decided he was ready to cook that the method chosen for him would be just as fun!
When the pastry was done, Lupina gave the children a big pile of potatoes, carrots, swedes, leeks and other veg to chop while she stood at the stove, boiling water to make gravy in a huge saucepan which would have been big enough by itself to cook a child or two! As the pot steamed and bubbled she added stock, herbs and cornflour and stirred until it formed a thick, delicious-smelling gravy.
“There we go!” she turned to her main ingredients who were standing proudly beside their pile of freshly-chopped vegetables. “Now we just need to put everything together!” She leaned down, giving all three children and especially the boys a good view of her own curvy backside under her tail, and lit the huge oven.
“Do we just climb in?” Lucy asked, looking at the pastry-lined tin. Lupina nodded and they did as they were told, laying down with their bottoms pushed against the pastry wall and their knees close to each other’s faces. “Like this?” the delicious young girl called up, tilting her head to the side to look at the wolf-lady. “I think this is how they looked in the book?”
“Perfect!” Lupina clasped her hands together in delight then started to scoop the vegetables into the pie until the space all around the children was filled and their meaty young bodies were partially obscured. “Now, just to warn you,” she picked up the saucepan with oven mitts, “this will be hot!” Both children gave a little yelp but made no further complaint as the hot gravy was poured around and over them. But turning their heads to the side, they were able to keep their faces free so they could breathe for the time being. “You two look good enough to eat!” Lupina cooed, making them giggle once more. “Now I just need to put the lid on!” Carefully, she lifted the rolled-out pastry and lowered it over the tin as gently as if she were tucking them in for the night. Then she pressed down the edges and trimmed off the excess. She could hear chattering and giggling from inside the pie as she used the spare pastry to make a design on the top – a crude picture of a boy and girl looking more like gingerbread men than real children but anatomically correct, or as close as she could manage with her limited artistic skills. A few holes pricked here and there across the surface to let the steam out as it cooked, a glaze of milk and egg-white over the top, and the pie was finally ready for the oven!
The children were still giggling and chattering, wriggling around under the crust of the pie, as Lupina slid it into the oven then set about cleaning up the kitchen. That was the only downside about cooking boys and girls who helped you prepare your meal – they weren’t around to help with the clean-up afterwards! At least with all the vegetables and potatoes in the pie, she didn’t need to prepare anything to go with it. Apart, perhaps, from a nice bottle of wine! She took one out of the cupboard and put it into the fridge so it would be nice and cold when the pie was ready then give Jim a little kiss through the bars of the cage and went upstairs to shower. Half an hour later, she came back downstairs, comfortably naked with her hair flying loose and free, and peeped into the oven. The children seemed to have stopped moving and quieted down but it would be a long time until the pie was ready to eat.
“Keep an eye on the oven for me, there’s a dear!” she smiled at Jim in his cage. “Shout if you start to see smoke!” then she blew him a kiss and went into her freshly-cleaned living room to curl up on the sofa with a big mug of coffee and watch a movie while her dinner cooked.
In the darkness of the pie, broken only by the tiny shard of orange light that shone through the pin-pricks in the pie crust, Lucy and Billy had wriggled around to get comfy. The gravy, which had been allowed to stand for a while before being poured on them, was not really too hot and they quickly got used to it. It felt like being in a bath of custard, although one that smelled savoury and delicious.
“I hope we taste good!” Billy expressed to his sister as they slid up against each other in the cramped tin. “Miss Wo… Lupina’s so nice and it will raise lots of money for the charity!”
“Me too!” Lucy agreed. “I was so sad when she told us there aren’t many of her people left. It really is stupid to be so afraid of them!” They lay in companionable silence for a while, reflecting on the events of the day and dreaming of the delicious meal they were going to provide. As the oven heated up, so did the gravy around them. They could feel the lumps of vegetable getting softer as the brown liquid began to bubble and steam. The herbs Lupina had mixed in did their work and started to make them feel very sleepy. Lucy opened her mouth to say goodbye to her brother but got a mouthful of gravy for her trouble. She swallowed it down, enjoying the flavour and hoping that some of her own was mixed into it, then noticed that her brother had stopped moving so there wasn’t a lot of point in talking to him anyway! With a happy smile on her face, the sweet young girl had closed her eyes and sunk below the surface of the gravy and into oblivion.
The movie had been the perfect choice, just the right length, as when it finished, Lupina stood up and stretched than walked through to the kitchen, bushy tail swishing and empty tummy rumbling loudly! The room was filled with mouthwatering smells which only intensified as she opened the oven. The pie looked done to perfection, the crust golden brown and delicious-smelling steam rising from the little holes around the pastry brother and sister. She carefully lifted it out of the oven and eased a wide, flat knife around the edge, loosening it from the tin, then ever so carefully levered it out and onto a large serving platter. She left it on the kitchen counter to settle and cool a little while she set herself a place at the table with plate, knife, fork and glass. Then she took the bottle of wine out of the fridge, nice and chilled now with condensation forming on the outside, and set it next to her glass.
“Don’t worry!” she smiled at Jim, taking out a large wooden bowl and spoon traditionally used for feeding children in the fattening cage and set it on the side, ready to receive his portion. The boy could not help licking his lips as he smelled his friends’ pie! The pretty, naked wolf-lady lifted the platter and set it in the middle of the table then took a large knife out of the drawer and finally sat down to enjoy her meal.
As she cut into the pie, the thick gravy oozed out. That was definitely a piece of bottom in her slice, but whose? She popped the slice onto her plate and poured a glass of wine then cut a piece with knife and fork and chewed it thoughtfully. Tasted like boy, she was sure. For her next slice, she cut from the other side of the pie to be sure of getting a piece of Lucy to compare. Both siblings were equally delicious but with differing flavours unique to their sex. After four more slices, she cut a piece from each side and loaded it into the bowl for Jim who was watching patiently but with undisguised hunger while she ate.
“Here you go, cutie!” she ruffled his hair then slipped the bowl through the gap at the bottom of the door before handing him the spoon through the bars, “Eat this up so you can get nice and far for Auntie Lupina’s dinner!” She playfully flicked his hard little willy with the top of her finger before returning to her seat. She cut herself another slice of pie and topped up her glass as Jim eagerly tucked into his portion. Of course, he was only human while Lupina was a Lupus Sapien so that one big bowlful was more than enough for him while she kept going, the pile of bones beside her on the table gradually growing as the pie diminished.
Finally, she was down to one last slice. Stroking her very full, rather swollen belly, the naked wolf-lady carried the plate through into the living room. Somewhat fastidious by nature, she knew it would be easier to leave the clean-up until tomorrow if she didn’t have to look at it, so tucked her legs up under herself on the sofa once more to watch television and enjoy her last slice of pie, after which she sat picking her teeth with a small bone from either Lucy or Billy until it was time for bed.
That night, she had wonderful dreams of running wild and free in the forest as she digested her huge but delicious meal of Brother and Sister Pie, and slept quite late into the day since nobody came knocking to disturb her this time. After showering, she cleaned up the kitchen from the night before, sweeping the stack of bones into a bin-liner to throw away later, then she made a lovely big bowl of porridge for Jim’s breakfast to help his fattening and sat down to write a big check to the charity the children had been collecting for, making sure to let the charity know in her covering letter that the generous size of the donation was down to Billy, Lucy and Jim and their obvious dedication to helping, supporting and feeding endangered species.
After dressing and disguising herself to walk amongst humans once more, she came back to the kitchen to collect the bag of bones for the bin and the charity letter to post. Her eye fell upon the cookbook she had used the night before, still on the table.
“Here!” she picked it up and passed it through the bars of the cage to Jim. “Please be very careful with it, it’s very old! But while I’m out, why not have a look through and see if you can find a recipe you’d like me to use with you?” Jim took the book excitedly and had already begun to turn the pages by the time the front door closed.
