Sam woke up.

The first thing he noticed was the blinding lights shining in his face. The second was his body tied down to an operating table, spread eagle. The third was that he was completely naked.

He looked around. Women in lab coats and surgical masks surrounded him, their eyes hidden behind mirror coated goggles. Above him, a dizzying array of mysterious instruments and robotic arms.

Various wires were patched on his arms and bare chest, feeding vital signs back to the mysterious figures.

Sam's heart raced. Where was he, who were these people that had kidnapped him, and what did they want?

He pulled at the restraints, and began to holler and yell, to let him go, let him go right now.


A robotic voice chirped out "Experiment number twenty three starting in T minus 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0!"

One of the robotic arms above Sam stirred to life.

It lowered itself from the ceiling and turned its appendage towards Sam.

A long tube, capped by a lens. Warning labels covered it lengthwise.

HIGH POWER INDUSTRIAL LASER

IMPROPER USE CAN CAUSE INJURY/DEATH

Sam opened his mouth to scream.

The world went black.
