Any authors here who are into human hunting? I somehow ended up with an idea for such a story, even though such a setting isn't exactly my thing. Hopefully it can work better for someone else?

So, the setup is that there's a rich spoiled girl who likes to entertain herself by hunting people. She buys slaves / kidnaps people and brings them to her mansion where she tells them if they can escape the territory alive they're free. And then she hunts them down. Nobody managed to escape alive so far, and maybe it was all a lie in the first place and guards at the territory's border would just kill them would they actually get that far.

But anyway that isn't the story yet. The actual story is that this girl gets bored of hunting these slaves / kidnapped people, that's just too easy. She wants a worthy opponent! So what she does is she creates a clone of herself. A perfect copy not only with her body, but with all of her knowledge and memories too. So she knows the layout of the mansion, all the traps and secret passages, and the tactics she would use as the hunter. And also it means if the clone wins and manages to kill the original she would just take the original's place and nobody would notice any difference. So who's going to be a hunter and who's going to be hunted now? This setup makes the girl really excited.

Oh, and the guards at the border are instructed to not let either of them out without confirming the other's death, seeing how there's no way to tell the original from the clone - which is also on purpose, and so it can only end with one of them killing the other.

Optionally there can be a twist where in the end the girl we follow through the story discovers she was the clone the whole time without realizing it. Furthermore perhaps from the beginning her plan was to arrange it that way that even the two of them won't know which of them is the original and they would start in equal conditions, and since both have similar thinking they're both excited with such a setup and having equal chances. After all, in a way it means she wins either way, huh?

But it can work without such twists as well. Even if the clone knows she's a clone, and even if she's not put into equal starting conditions, having the same thinking she's still determined to win and take the original's place and is thrilled by the challenge of it.

Well, anyway. The core of the idea is that she makes her own perfect clone to be a worthy opponent to herself, and then it can be taken in any direction from there.
