I'm not sure if I really like this new fantastical direction. Not everything has to be brutally realistic, but those fantasies are just a bit too far from reality.
A girl getting eaten alive and not even feeling something just takes too much away from the immersion and prevents us too much from putting ourselves in the character's perspective.
