I think it is not really that bad ;) she got transformed into cooked meat which can still move and talk and does not feel pain anymore. everything consistent within the story.
Just that maybe attempt to force some kind of resemblance with real world with hand waving about pills that cook you from inside was bad idea as now it make me think How the hell that is going to work
