Thank you! Comments mean a lot to an author, especially here on gurochan where it's the only indication if anyone's even reading your stories, let alone enjoying them. Maybe that's why everyone spread out to other places nowadays, but I kind of grew up at gurochan… or at least as an author. Sometimes I feel like an idiot posting things that get no response, like why am I bothering if there's nobody here who is. So getting confirmation that there are still people here who care is very important. Gurochan feels like home to me in a way AO3 can't do, even if it's better suited for stories, it wouldn't fit for a random rant like this one where I can just speak my mind and hope to find understanding. So it really hurts to see gurochan be so desolated, it's sort of like coming to the home you grew up at and had many happy times, but now your parents are gone and your siblings are all busy surviving adult lives elsewhere and the house is now all empty. All the same walls, the same furniture, but they don't bring you joy without the people you care for being around. I tried to make a new home at lolicit, and it even seemed to be working for some time, but then they took me trying to get a say in anything that was going on for encroaching on their power, when in reality I was just caring for things. Which brings me back to gurochan where some time ago there was an attempt to introduce a new design to /lit/, I explained why it was shit and they reverted it. Ah, now if only all the authors were back… where is Edward, where is Eterya, where is ∀x ∃y y=porn(x), where is NoPantsRelationship with the never happened last chapter of Club Meat Grinder, where is Rosie, where is Lord of Pancakes, and many others both named and anonymous… Where is the person who wrote Bacchanal, it so deserves a continuation? And even new authors like L and Hanneko don't seem to stick around. Now, I know I'm far from being the most prolific author myself, but that's exactly where having more authors would help, someone writes a story today, someone else writes a story tomorrow, we would have a constant supply of new content which would in turn inspire more new content, and with various authors it would also be more diverse, each having their own style and spin on things. But after gurochan came back this last time… it looks like people just didn't come back with it. Where is everyone? There used to be so many more of us! Did everyone just grow out of guro and moved on with their lives and I'm the only one who sticks to old habits because of failing at being an adult? Well, in that case where's the new blood? Did Onix scare away L and anyone else who were willing to join? Or is guro simply out of fad nowadays and I'm but an old geezer grumbling about grass being greener in his youth?..
